I would love an update on the 1GR-FE tuning capability timeline. Any idea when anything will be developed?

This morning, OVT noted in TW Dev thread that 4Runner support is now in the latest version of vF.

You can download vF from the homepage. In the installation folder ( \\c:\program files (x86)\vftuner ), it will show what ECU IDs can be Unlocked.

I just updated vF and it looks like 2009 and up 4Runners are supported. ECU IDs 35F30, 35F51, 35781, and 35801.

1GR-FE With Dual VVTi (4Runner, Prado) is supported.

We are working on single VVT version support (Hilux, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, etc)

VFTuner VERY excited to see the 35F51 on the list of supported 4Runner ECUs! My boss is anxiously waiting for me to get the tune pack emailed over to start cranking on it!

          Two quick questions:
          1) I assume the Tune pack is ready for that ECU since it's a short list of supported ECUs, is there anything else I need to do (already replied to your email about which 4Runner ECU I needed the tune pack for).
          2) I keep hearing that the 'new version' which supports 4Runners is out, but when I go to your website, it is still just showing 1.2.7.0 as the most recent version to download on the homepage... do you normally increment the software version when you update to include more ECUs?

The latest vF download has those ECU Stock tunes in it. That is where I pulled the ECU IDs from.

On the 3rd Gen Taco side, making a few changes to the Stock tune has made noticeable differences. Some folks were getting by with that before the Tune Packs were released.

I am unaware if there are 4.0l Tune Packs. Nothing is posted on the vF Products page yet. But with the Stock tune in vF, you can open it to Unlock that ECU.

Sorry about that! I must have scanned right past it?

It looks like you're set though. Enjoy!

Haha, I'll be set when I've got the 35F51 files in my inbox! :-) I'll update when I get home and check it out the stock files to start with. I can't wait to see what the Tundra Tune pack changes looks like, since I want to see how close my ground-up Tundra tune compares to what Mat made.

Do you mean he got the Tune Pack for the Tundras? I have only tuned a 2019 Tundra, but most of the people waiting are on one of the 2020 ECU IDs, so I figured I'd get that, since it'll be a higher demand ECU, so it's only logical. Plus, the 2019 dude I did is already happy, so I can always bring any take-aways from the 2020 tune pack to the 2019s if needed. The downside is the 2020 Packs (or even support for them on VFTuner) isn't ready yet, so I just hope I'm one of the first to get it since I already paid for an ECU that isn't supported yet!

I'm just hoping I get that email with the link to the 4Runner tune pack asap!

I'm awaiting my 2020 tune pack as well. Can't wait.

I didn't check to see how many ECU ID's are supported for the Tundras. Do you know off hand?

I do not know the Tundra tuning that well. I will see if I can dig up some info.

Are there plans to release modified versions of the 1GRFE ecu calibrations similar to the 2.0 files for the 3rd gen Tacoma? Or will the tune packs released only be editable versions of the stock files?

Tune pack on the site says they are base tunes. By the price difference I'm going to assume those don't include modified files like the 2GR-FKS.

Tune packs are pre-made tunes that we have developed. They provide you with a starting tune, that you can edit or leave as is.
