Under heavy load, my 2016 MT's revs hang during a shift. It's a really unpleasant driving experience. What causes this and how can we mitigate it?

Rev Hang is an emissions thing. I have seen articles that say that it is to prevent crankcase vapor from occurring with a quick drop in revs and / or that it is to prevent overly rich mixtures from fouling the cats. Neither make 100% sense given the close breather system and modern fuel controls.

That said, VFTuner will be adding a couple patches to the an upcoming vF version to address Rev Hang and improve DFCO.
